Speechwriting skills

Ethos CRS offers group programs that develop the skills of professionals to write speeches—or presentations—that convince and persuade. The spoken word is a key part of any communications strategy. This is because speeches can be used to great effect.

We develop skills so that trainees are able to lead their audience through the logic of the argument and put forward a compelling case. We focus on how to structure and style a speech to suit the time, place, audience and message of a speech.

Courses and content are tailored to meet the needs of individual organisations.

Topics covered in the course

  • how to structure a speech
  • elements of style
  • accuracy, valid argument, clarity of language, rhythm and relevance
  • how to target a speech for the audience (including media) and the occasion
  • the difference between a speech and speaking points and when to use what

Our team of trainers are experts in their fields, are experienced speechwriters and can produce speeches that are written just as they should be spoken. They have written speeches for ministers, governors-general and CEOs. They also have extensive training experience both in the public and private sector.
